After the last power-packed Oscar nominated movie, ‘Bridge of Spies’ -the visionary and celebrated filmmaker Steven Speilberg is back with fantasy adventure film ‘The BFG’ which is all set to release India on 15th July.
The BFG which stands for ‘Big friendly Giant’ whose screenplay is by the very famous Oscar nominee Late Melissa Mathison (Ex-wife of Harrison Ford) and is based on the novel of the same name by Roald Dahl.
Before Steven Spielberg cast Oscar winner Mark Rylance to play the titular giant in “The BFG,” a convincing performer was already tied to the role: the director himself.
“‘The BFG’ had a nostalgic impact on me because it was one of the first books I read to my kids,” Spielberg about the 1982 Roald Dahl novel.
“I could be the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) to my own children, who looked up to me while I was reading that story. So I would do the BFG voice, I would pretend to be the BFG (acting it out) with my own personality.”
Those who didn’t get to hear Spielberg’s bedtime adaptation in person get the next best thing when “The BFG” opens on 15th July in India.
Reliance entertainment has a Pan India release for this friendly giant movie in 4 languages – English, Hindi, Tamil &Telugu. The movie is all set to release in India on 15th July, 2016.
