Singer Nithyashree

Nithyashree was born on 12th of July, 1999 to Mr. S.Venkataramanan and Mrs. Lakshmi Venkataramanan in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She is currently pursuing her 12th grade in Business Studies from S.B.O.A School and Junior College (CBSE), Annanagar.

Nithyashree’s music talent was first identified by her parents at the age of 4 when she accidentally corrected the tune of her mother’s singing. Both the parents were astonished to see their small kid possessing musical knowledge at a very young age then. Hence they approached a nearby  music teacher for pursuing Carnatic classes for her. Since she was only 4 then, the teacher accepted to
take classes only after she would turn 6. In the meantime, her elder sister, Vhaijaiyanthi Shree Venkataramanan was pursuing Carnatic classes. So Nithyashree learnt a lot of Carnatic lessons simply by listening to her sister’s practice sessions. When she turned 5, she started singing in her father’s own band (Sri and Shree Raagas Audio – since 1987). At the age of 6, she started pursuing her Carnatic classes from Guru Smt. Laksmi Raman (Mysore University) followed by Guru Smt. Lalgudi Padmavathy Ananthagopalan (Veena Vidhushi) and currently learning from Guru Sri. T.S. Venkatraman (Thanjavur Shankar Iyer Shishya). Besides her Carnatic music career, her passion towards Light Music enhanced and hence her parents put her in an all in all Child Orchestra named “Isai Mottugal” run by Mr. Drums Gopal. With his band, she has performed more than 200+ stage shows for about two years between the age of 6 and 8. Looking at Nithyashree’s passion for Light Music, her parents wanted to take her passion to the next level and hence they took her to the most popular Musical Reality Show of South India, “Airtel Super Singer Junior - 2” conducted by Star Vijay at the age of 9 and a half in the year 2009-2010. She won a lot of accolades throughout the show and has received appreciation from almost all the Legendary Playback Singers of the South Indian Music Industry. She was the second runner-up of the show. She has also won the “Best Entertainer Award” of the season. Immediately after Super Singer, her first breakthrough in Playback singing was for the Legendary Music Director Ilayaraja sir’s son Yuvan Shankar Raja for the movie Avan Ivan directed by Film Director Bala in the year 2010 for the song “Oru Malayoram” followed by many other recording opportunities for albums and movies with Music Director Dheena and many upcoming Music Directors. She along with her sister, Vhaijaiyanthi Venkataramanan were fortunate enough to have had an opportunity to be a part of backing vocals in the movie “I” for the one and only Legendary Composer and Oscar Naayagan A.R. Rahman sir and also had opportunities to work with him as a backing vocalist for two other projects. She along with her sister, Vhaijaiyanthi Shree Venkataramanan have released their own Devotional Musical album composed by Mr. V.K. Kannan.

They were fortunate enough to get this album released in December 2010 by the Legendary playback singer Dr.S.Janaki Amma. Nithyahree has travelled across the world close to ten countries to entertain many music lovers. After Singer Super, the accolades through many other reality shows were additional feathers to her cap. She was a part of Junior Super stars (Top 5), T-20 season 1 (Winners), KD Boys Killadi Girls (Winners) and T-20 Season 2 (Winners) all conducted by Star Vijay. Her ambition was to establish herself as a Nation Wide singer which triggered her to participate in the most famous reality show in India, Indian Idol Junior-2 conducted by Sony Entertainment TV. She is the proud Runner-up of this prestigious show. She has impressed the judges and has also won many hearts throughout India and the world. Throughout her musical career right from the age of 6-15, her school has been a pillar of support to balance both academics and her passion towards music till date. Let us give a warm welcome to this one and only beautiful singer from Tamil Nadu who rocked Bollywood for the past three months.
