The Trailer and Music of Digitally Re-Mastered ‘Rickshawkaran’ will be launched on 21st August.



‘Makkal Thilagam’ MGR’s ‘Rickshawkaran’ will always stay as a Special Movie in the hearts of MGR fans. Bounded and tied up with strong script, beautiful songs, Stylish acting of MGR and extraordinary stunts, ‘Rickshawkaran’ was the fifth film produced by RM Veerapan under the banner ‘Sathya Movies’. This 1971 film that had Ashokan, Major Sundararajan, Manohar, ‘Thengaa’ Srinivasan, Cho and Padmini in the lead roles was considered to be the best among other films released in 1971. It is to be noted that Actress Manjula was introduced as Heroine through this ‘Rickshawkaran’ movie. 

 The songs of this film “Angey Siripavargal Sirikattum…”, Azhagiya Tamil Magal Ival…”, “Kadaloram Vaangiya Kaatru…” and “Pambai Udukkai Kotti…” are still remaining as Evergreen hits in the Musical charts. Well packed with Action, Love, Comedy and Sentiment, the film ‘Rickshawkaran’ not only hit the box office, but also bagged the ‘Best Actor of India’ - ‘Bharath’ award for M.G.R. And now this film is digitally re-mastered and all set to get released soon. As an initial start, ‘Rickshawkaran’s’ digital Trailer and Music will be launched on 21st August (Sunday) at ‘Devi Paradise’ - Chennai by 6.01 pm. This Trailer and Music launch will be headed by R.M.Veerapan which will witness the presence of leading producers, Distributors, Theatre owners, Directors, Actor - Actresses, Technicians and Media friends. 

It is to be noted that the digitally re-mastered version of Rickshawkaran is about to be released by P.Mani - T.K.Krishnakumar of ‘Kwality Cinema’ and K.Ramu of ‘Film Vision’. “It is really a proud moment for all of us. We won’t be this much happy, if this function takes place in any other premises or theaters. Because the original version of ‘Rickshawkaran was released in this same ‘Devi Paradise’ in 1971. I request all the fans of MGR to make their proud presence for this grand function…” says T.K.Krishnakumar of ‘Kwality Cinema’ with greater joy.
